Rice

Rice is staple food for most people in China especially in the south, north and the west. Rice is a vegetable and it is either eaten by itself or with fish. Chinese have eaten rice for 5000 years. They mainly eat white rice. Rice is a symbol of life and fertility. For centuries it was used in place of money. Chinese like rice steamed white and fluffy, but most of all plain.
